- INFO: Disaronno was first commercially bottled in 1900 but it is based on a recipe said to date back to 1525. Until 2001 it was named Amaretto di Saronno. While the exact recipe is a secret, it is made from a pure alcohol base made from sugar beet or sugar cane. Vanilla and bitter almond are the only two named ingredients. Note: the bitter almonds are actually apricot pits.
