AROMA: Bright and mellow at first with some banana cake and stewed apples, smoked peach and iodine; a little wax and vanilla, floral and botanical, light chili and cinnamon
TASTE: More of the trademark (green) pepper and ashy smoke, apples and cinnamon, raisins, maybe pineapple and honey, notes of peat as well, with more iodine and seaweed than I was expecting, bitter almonds and herbs
FINISH: Long, with earthy spice, mint and wood smoke
INFO: In 1825, Hugh MacAskill of Eigg acquired Talisker House and the north end of the Minginish peninsula on the rugged, beautiful Isle of Skye. Talisker is the oldest Single Malt Scotch Whisky made by the sea on the shores of the Isle of Skye, one of the most remote, rugged, yet beautiful landscapes in Scotland. This whisky is complex, and takes a while for your palate to appreciate some of the more salty, peaty notes.
