AROMA: Heavy rye grain notes, faint notes of orange peel, caramel, tobacco, and vanilla
TASTE: Fairly thick with orange peel, anise, raisins are at the forefront; warm vanilla coats the mid-palate; rye spice rounds off the back of the palate
FINISH: Medium length with notes of raisins, under-baked bread, rye, and warm vanilla underneath
INFO: After a successful first year, Big River Distilling has added a rye whiskey to its small but expanding portfolio. The Riverset Rye, also produced in small batches and bottled at 93 proof, is perfectly dry with a slightly charred oak presence and nutty overtones.
